Consumer Reviews

To begin, there is not a brand name, organization name, address, telephone quantity, or something to identify this item anywhere on the unit, on the box, or in the instruction manual. All we know for confident is "Created in China" So, the only support will come from Amazon.
The unit appears to be identical to this, and probably has the same origin: Ambient Climate WS-1171 Wireless Advanced Climate Station with Temperature, Dew Point, Barometer and Humidity but $10 less expensive, and except for 1 feature that the WS-1171 has that this one particular doesn't. That is that the outside humidity can be calibrated on the Ambient model, and it can't on the DB-Tech. This would be a fine function to have, and I would have paid the added $ten to get it, considering that the outside humidity readings that I am having are not at all precise.
NOAA takes measurements at the local airport, about 1 mile from my property, and their readings for temperature and barometric pressure match my readings (I also have other gear) incredibly closely. The humidity reading, even so, is not even close.
I am just starting to use the dewpoint as a measure of the comfort level outside, and looked forward to having a unit that would display it. But given that the humidity reading is inaccurate, so is the dewpoint reading. Also, in order to view the dewpoint on this unit, you must decide on in between the temperature and the dewpoint. You can not see them both at the exact same time. The humidity level on the other hand, is available all the time. I would much rather be in a position to see the temperature and the dewpoint together than to see dewpoint and humidity.
The display is not as large as I would have liked it really is tricky to see from across the room. If you set it on a table and walk up to appear at it from above, it appears pretty dim. It would be fantastic for a desktop exactly where you view it from straight on. I also personal this: La Crosse Technology WS-9057U-IT Wireless Climate Station with Barometric Pressure for which I paid a lot significantly more locally. It's display is good plenty huge with vivid, straightforward to read numbers, but it was by no means precise and the barometer stopped working just after a year.
OK, getting complained sufficient, there are some good items to say. The indoor and outdoor temperature readings are incredibly accurate, as nicely as the indoor humidity level. The atomic clock is dead correct, and I like the pressure background and forecast icons. I have not, and will not set any of the alarms, but there are numerous and they would be amusing to play with.
Considering the fact that I spot the most importance on accuracy, I cannot give this item the ideal rating. Two of the principal measurements that I am interested in, outside humidity and dewpoint, are not appropriate and that may well cause me to send this unit back.

Monitor works as advertised and is significantly less expensive than comparable models. Even the climate predictor is suitable as quite often as the weatherman!
