Monitor the outdoor air temperature and check soil temperature with this compact wireless weather station and its optional, waterproof probe. From La Crosse Technology, the climate station makes it possible for customers to check the indoor temperature and humidity levels, assess outdoor temperatures, and preserve track of the time.
Equipped for wall hanging or tabletop display, the weather station’s receiver conveys climate circumstances and the time on an hassle-free-to-read LCD screen with adjustable contrast. The receiver registers indoor temperatures from 14.1 to 139.eight degrees F and indoor humidity levels from 1 to 99 percent. By pressing the MIN/MAX button on the receiver’s two-button interface, the user can observe the recorded minimum and maximum temperatures and humidity levels. The receiver’s clock conveys time in either 12- or 24-hour formats. Likewise, temperatures are expressed in either Fahrenheit or Celsius degrees. To monitor outdoor temperatures, the weather station provides a TX25U wireless sensor and its detachable ten-foot wire probe. A compact LCD screen on the sensor provides the outdoor temperature reading. Measuring outdoor temperatures from -39.eight to +139 degrees F, the sensor transmits to the receiver from up to 330 feet away at a 915 MHz frequency. The probe plugs into the sensor for transmitting additional temperature readings by way of the weather station’s second channel. For the perfect outcomes, mount the sensor with its wall-mount stand in a dry, shaded location. The climate station accommodates up to three remote sensors total. To power the weather station, the separate acquire of two AA batteries and two AAA batteries is essential. A restricted one-year warranty covers this product. The climate station receiver measures approximately 3 inches wide by 1-1/five inches deep by three-five/6 inches high even though the sensor spans 1-1/2 inches wide by 3/4 inch deep by four-4/5 inches high.
The La Crosse Technology WS-9029U Wireless Climate Station with Digital Time displays indoor temperature/humidity, outdoor temperature and time. The remote sensor can display two wireless temperatures (the air temperature and also water/soil temperature making use of an optional ten foot probe).

Client Critiques
I recently started homebrewing beer, and I purchased this thermometer about six weeks ago to monitor the temperature of the beer as it ferments.
General comments:
- I like the size of the base. It is not some enormous contraption that takes up a lot of space on my desk. I don't need to have it to predict the weather, I just wanted something to tell me the temperature locally, and at a remote sensor (which it does well!).
- The base LCD provides excellent contrast, as long as you look down at it slightly. At perpendicular, and anything below that (ie: if you look up at it), the LCD appears fuzzy and dim. But I compared this to my other digital thermometer, and it suffers from the same dilemma, I'd just never ever noticed it prior to. The screen is not backlit, but if I want to see it in the dark, I just turn on my laptop or computer monitor, my cell phone, etc.
- The unit seems to be pretty sensitive to smaller temperature adjustments. For bigger, alot more sudden alterations in temperature, both the sensor and the base appear to take longer than my older digital thermometer to settle on a single temp. I am not entirely certain about the accuracy, but it's never ever even more than about 1F off from my other thermometers.
- I Definitely like the remote sensor probe cord thingy. I did not recognize it was included when I placed my order, but I'm actually glad it was. The probe cord is a couple of feet long, and it permits me to measure the temperature of the side of my beer fermenter as effectively as the ambient temperature of the air at the remote sensor. You might possibly not have a equivalent use for it, but for those who do have a use for it, it is invaluable. Do not worry, if you do not need it, you are not forced to do something with the cord (ie: coil it up) you can unplug it from the sensor.
- I've read a lot of gripes from owners of other thermometers about the base station not becoming able to get a signal from the remote sensor via walls. I preserve my base station about 15 feet from the remote sensor, which in my case takes the signal by way of one particular wall and 1 closet door. There's a tiny indicator on the base that blinks to tell you when the base is receiving the sensor's signal. I monitor it fairly often and I've by no means had a signal situation.
- The instructions say that the batteries are supposed to final two years (!).
- The humidity reading is only reported for the humidity at the base (not the sensor). This might possibly or may not matter to you.
Minor annoyances:
- The base LCD appears to be a tiny dim when employing rechargeable (AA) batteries. The directions particularly advocate alkalines. The remote sensor, on the other hand, seems to be undertaking fine with my rechargeable AAA's.
- The genius who created the thermometer tied the 24-hour clock choice to the Celsius selection. In other words, you get both 24-hour + Celsius, or 12-hour + Fahrenheit.
- I have to press a button on the base to toggle among the ambient temperature at the sensor and the temperature at the finish of the probe cord.
Conclusion: Judging by the 1st six weeks of usage, this is a straightforward, however solid wireless thermometer. You ought to acquire it if you want a no-frills way to monitor the temperature of a nearby place.
I waited six months to write this critique. I was concerned with battery life. So far there has been no challenges with the original batteries.
I would say for the dollars this is about as superior a deal as there is. I purchased it for the remote sensor and probe. I have the remote in my greenhouse at least 150 ft. from the base unit. It functions outstanding. I also like the humidity sensor on the base unit.
I would have liked the base unit to be a small bigger, but it's not poor. All in all, this is a exceptionally very good indoor/outdoor thermometer.
