I bought this unit to replace my honeywell 924W (sadly it was barely 6 months old and totally fell apart).
Costco had these 2812 units on on sale so it was a no brainer to try it out at the costs they had.
So far so fine. I do not have any key complaints.
I do uncover with my sensor places the rain gauge will usually drop off, but it frequently gets re-acquired. I also think I have the sensors setup in worst case scenario. As opposed to the way other wireless units operate, the outdoor temp/humidity sensor collects data from the anemometer and rain gauge sensors, then sends the information to the main display. Regrettably I have the rain gauge in the back of my property, and the temp/humidity in the front. So the rain gauge has to xmit all way through the home to get information to the temp/humidity sensor.
I had no difficulty obtaining the station to upload it is information employing WUHU (it is free google it), combined with the included heavy climate software program. Bought the Lacrosse WS-2812-IT 2 days ago. I am pretty tech savvy and despite the fact that the software was a snap to install and sync, the wind speed sensor will not communicate with the weather station nor the Computer application. It is totally charged, reset, re-synced over 2 days and nevertheless not operating. I took out the "Ahead of YOU RETURN TO YOUR RETAILER" card and tried to reach somebody in assistance. You are needed to leave your number and somebody can get back to you in 2-3 days! There is NO One particular there to answer your incoming calls for even a effortless fix.
