The packaging should win Consumer Reports "Oyster Award" for difficulty. I guess they do this for retail store security. The set-up went ok. If you are computer-literate you almost certainly can handle it. You have to set up time, date, atomic clock, time zone, viewing contrast, etc. Soon after installation, I found it to be quite correct. I tested it against other temp. units. The viewing face on the indoor unit is exceptionally readable. They suggest AA alkaline batteries, but it functions fine with my rechargeables. I returned an inexpensive unit to a retail retailer given that of inaccuracy. I would definately recommend this to any individual who desires to install a wireless weather station for a quite reasonable price.
The wireless functionality of this device is entirely unrealistic. Stating that you have to set the transmitter (outside of your home) three-five feet away from the device is plain silly... So that element does not function which defies the objective of monitoring outdoor temperatures. Second problem is that you cannot set the channel. It is broken. The net webpage is a joke to get aid. This is the second La Crosse device I'm returning. The very first one particular was an atomic clock that under no circumstances got the time adjusted. I place La Crosse on my "Do not Buy" list. The act of selling junk has to cease.
