Buyer Reviews

Bought this item a few months ago, and it has exceeded my expectations. It does almost everything I could have asked for in such a effortless device.
I have not scientifically tested the accuracy of the device, but it unquestionably does seem precise. My console is located inside a couple of feet of my furnace thermostat and they are continually within .5F of each and every other. The remote sensor is located outside and I've compared the readings against what the local airport down the road reports and they're at all times within 1 - 2F of each other.
My only minor disappointment occurred when I unboxed the device to acquire out that the translucent bezel look (that is what I was expecting based on the image), was just a white/gray painted border. Would have preferred the more contemporary appear, but it really is only cosmetic and does not detract from the overall performance of the device.
General, I am really pleased with the device. It does a fine job at specifically what it advertises, for a incredibly agreeable price point. I'll in all probability end up buying a 2nd unit so that I can have a console on the 2nd floor.
If you're like me and you're looking for a fantastic high quality low expense (but not junk) thermometer/hygrometer get this... You won't be disappointed.

I just finished setting up my Ambient Wireless Climate Station Model WS-1285. Besides the usual indoor outdoor temperature and indoor humidity offered by their other model, this new unit provides outdoor humidity reading and a barometer. I found the unit quite quick to program....actually after placing in the batteries and letting the unit stand for about 30 minutes, everything came on line with no additional adjustments...Date/time was proper and the temperature and humidity readings had been inside two tenths of a degree from every single other (when the remote sensor was 10 feet away from the base unit) I locate the readings on this inexpensive unit to be alot more correct that those of my other weather station, a Davis Instrument Vantage Vue. The humidity and temperature readings on the Vue are up to eight units off from the nearby climate information while the Ambient is perfect on. Yet the VUE does measure wind speed and direction as well as rainfall, which this model Abbient does not.
I would suggest the Ambient with no reservation. It even has a folding stand to make locating the unit on any flat surface simple.
