Consumer Reviews

I purchased it in February 09'. Soon after two months' use, the display was dead. I believed it was the batteries. So I replaced all the batteries. The display beeped as soon as and then nothing. Same thing when I attempted at least three varieties of alkaline batteries as suggested. As other reviewer mentioned, La Crosse has ZERO consumer servce.
1)I contacted them applying their on the web Speak to Custome Service form in early May.
2)Getting hearding nothing from them, I sent a e-mail on June ten. An e-mail came on June 12 with the typical Battery instructions in spite of the detailed dilemma description in my e-mail. It also asked for the buy information that I already sent in the previous email.
three)Anyway, I resent all the information requested on the exact same day, June 12. And guess what, nothing happened soon after that.
It really is 10 days now soon after I sent the final e mail. My patience ran out. So I filed a complaint with BBB. And I strongly encourage any 1 who have similr concerns with La Crosse to do the very same. We can not just let them sell faulty products and ignore the consumers.
Update: My case with BBB was closed as UNRESOLVED due to NO RESPONSE from La Crosse. Now La Crosse has the lowest rating of F in BBB method. Check it out prior to you buy!

I started up this little child on 12/31 (the timing stands out in my mind) and TWO WEEKS LATER and the outside transmitter is dead. The set itself still works fine, except the complete point of it (for me anyway) is to know the outside temp. I loved the guy who would tell me how to dress, and enjoyed the moon phases and sun rise/set. But other individuals have complained about that outside transmitter also... I wish I'd purchased some thing else. I had a single for YEARS that was just a effortless wire from (a several) station which you could spot out the window. Must have gone old-school, apparently. I am quite, especially disappointed and suggest you appear elsewhere so you aren't disappointed as well.
UPDATE 7/2010. Some have asked me if I ever did something about the warranty, so I thought I ought to give a rapid update. I returned the product to Amazon (quick exchange) and got a new 1. This time I put to use lithium batteries and kept the sensor additional protected outside (fundamentally it's protected on 3 sides and is never ever in direct sunlight or exposed to snow). I do not believe I'm finding a fully precise reading but at least it Functions. Being in southern New England we can go from 100 degrees to beneath . It could not be 100% correct, but it's operating. Would I get it once more? No. But perhaps my expectations were as well high. Buyer beware.
