Monitor the forecast and track the temperature indoors and out with this Climate Channel wireless forecast station from La Crosse Technologies. Merely spot the remote sensor in a hassle-free place outdoors up to 330 feet away, and the base unit will display temperatures in either Celsius or Fahrenheit as well as monitor outdoor humidity levels working with information transmitted from the sensor.
The station also forecasts changes in the climate based on alterations in air pressure with simple-to-read icons indicating cloudy, rainy, partly sunny, or sunny situations. An air-pressure tendency arrow shows whether the barometer is rising or falling, and the station records day-to-day high and low temps, which can display with the push of a button.
In addition to monitoring the climate, the device tells time with precision, thanks to its digital atomic clock, which receives a standard auto-tune signal and automatically updates for daylight savings time. Other good capabilities of the clock include a manual-set option, simple and easy-to-read digits, a 12- or 24-hour setting, time zone indicator, and a DST override option.
La Crosse Technology ships this station with the base and 1 remote sensor, but it is capable of receiving data from up to 3 sensors, if other people are bought separately. (The compatible sensor is model TX29U-IT.) This is a handy way to add monitors as the want develops to gauge the temperature in the garage, greenhouse, wine cellar, or baby’s area, all with a single console.
Developed to mount to a wall or set up freestanding, the Weather Channel base takes two AA batteries and measures five-5/8 by 3-1/4 by 1-1/four inches. The remote sensor takes two AA batteries and is 3-1/2 by 1-1/2 by 1/2 inches. Batteries are not included.
